February 13, 2007 Meeting Minutes
The regular meeting of the SEMO HRA was held on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. at the Clinton Building in Sikeston, MO. There were 21 members and guests present.
President Darryl Minner has been temporarily assigned to work in Springfield, MO for 6 months, so in his absence, president-elect Hugh Boon presided. Hugh welcomed everyone and introductions were made.
Peggy Gates read minutes from the January meeting, which were approved as read. Peggy presented the treasurer’s report.
There was no old business.
New Business: Hugh announced there would be a board meeting immediately following today’s regular meeting.
Peggy Gates announced that there are upcoming Emergency Preparedness workshops thorough out the country this year, and if anyone is interested in locations and details, she has information.
Hugh Boon introduced today’s guest speaker; Kristen Foltz-Schlegel. Kristen is housed at SeMO Univeristy and works for the Child Care Resource & Referral program. This program is funded by the MO Dept of Health & Senior Services. The theme throughout her presentation was "Child Care Keeps Missouri Working".
Her informative presentation gave us information to pass along to our employees when expected or unexpected child care resource information is needed.
Her group also administers the "Missouri First Steps" program that is Missouri’s early intervention system for infants and toddlers with special needs.
Kristen passed out informational pamphlets and bookmark cards that are available at no cost for us to pass along to our employees.

The next meeting will be held on March 13 at the Health Facilities Rehab location, 1102 Sikes Street in Sikeston. The start time will be 8:00 a.m. and the presentation will be on diversity, managing the generations. The presentation will be facilitated by Peggy Gates.
